Bellissimo S Z wins first GP

12 / 06 / 2018
Thibeau Spits and Bellissimo S Z (Bamako de Muze x Chin Chin, b: Patrick Sebrechts) win their first international Grand Prix in Lier. An unprecedented moment for both the seventeen-year-old Thibeau and the nine-year-old Bellissimo S Z. The chestnut mare normally belongs to his father Patrick Spits, who couldn’t participate due to circumstances. The entries were already made and Thibeau took over, a decision that resulted in his first win on two-star Grand Prix level.

In the one-star Grand Prix Maxime Harmegnies and Leon JH Z (Lord Z x Chellano Z) just didn’t manage to win. They had to settle for second place. Leonie Peeters followed in third place with Comme One Z (Comme d'api vd Hacienda Z x Kannan), the half-sister to the Zangersheide approved Vannan who jumps 1.60m under Athina Onassis.

It didn’t work out to win with Leon JH Z, but Harmegnies succeeded at finishing first with Seahorse Z (Hunter's Scendix x Chellano Z). In the jump-off at 1.45m level they left the competition behind.

At the five-year-olds, the top three was completely colored in blue and yellow. Laura Alix guided It's Me Drum vh Juxschot Z (Indokro K van't Kattenheye x Placido) to victory. João Victor Castro became second with Victoria D'ive Z (Vleut x Chin Chin). The German Frederik Knorren was good for third place with Kannan Belle Z (Kannan x Andiamo Z).

Crush Second Life Z won at the six-year-olds. This son of Chellano Z was sold at the Zangersheide Quality Auction in 2012. Since then he has fulfilled all expectations under Dominique Hendrickx. Another six-year-old with good results was the Levisto Z x Cornet Obolensky offspring Lykke Li-Terma Z. As a foal this striking appearance was also sold at the Zangersheide Quality Auction. Last year she was auctioned at the Sales of the Rising Stars for €100,000. Together with her Irish rider Neal Ferson, she finished ninth after two clear rounds.

Sarah Toussaint and Arka de la Hart Z (Arko III x Kashmir van Schuttershof) finished fourth at the seven-year-olds.

Other places of honor were taken by Caramel Wijngaardhoeve Z (Chellano Z x Ahorn) who won the 1.10m speed class under Kasper De Boeck. Chella d'Amour SB Z (Chellano Z x Ithou d'Amour) and the Argentinian Fidel Segovia became second in the 1.40m course with two phases. Jens Vandenberk and Treasure vh Eeropahof Z (Tsar Hero x Remondo) gained third place at a height of 1.35m.
