Don VHP Z and Dominator Z secure second place in Brussels

The Stephex Stables in Wolvertem was the venue for the Brussels Stephex Masters last weekend. Harrie Smolders and Don VHP Z (Diamant de Semilly x Voltaire) were in the lead for a long time in the five-star Rolex Grand Prix, awarded with € 500,000. Last-to-go Niels Bruynseels (Gancia de Muze) managed to finish just 28/100 faster and referred Harrie and Don to second place.

Next to Don VHP Z, Dominator 2000 Z also starred in Brussels. This Z stallion and a son of Diamant de Semilly as well, jumped to second place in Friday evening’s 1.55m leveled main class, in which Don VHP Z became fourth. Daniel Deusser (Killer Queen VDM) took the top spot.

With the World Breeding Jumping Championships for young horses on the horizon in Lanaken, the new champions will be known soon. Last year's seven-year-old World Champion, again lived up to expectations Brussels. Christian Ahlmann and Solid Gold Z (Stakkato Gold x Calvin Z) celebrated the victory in the final for seven and eight-year-old horses. With Zampano Z (Zandor Z x Cocktail Jet), Christian was successful in the 1.45m speed class and finished in third place.

Charlemagne JT Z, (Cachas x Carthago Z) bred by Johan Thijs, jumped with Silvia Bazzani to a victory in the 1.50m leveled jump-off of the three-star GP and to a third place in Thursday's 1.40m class. Bellefleur PS Z (Berlin x Quidam de Revel) became both second and fourth at 1.35m/1.45m level under Charlotte Bettendorf. For Gonzalo Azcarraga (Haiti Z) and Maikel van der Vleuten (Sildouch Z) there was a second place at a height of 1.40m and 1.45m respectively. The American lady rider Sarah Gordon won the CSI1* GP with the eight-year-old Boss van’t Ameldonk Z (Bamako de Muze x Clinton).
