Victer Finn DH Z claims victory in World Cup in Columbus

10 / 10 / 2018
The upcoming Mexican rider Eugenio Garza Perez galloped to victory with his mount Victer Finn DH Z in the World Cup of Columbus in Ohio. After they captured the win in Friday’s main class, they once again dominated their first ever World Cup on Sunday. Victer Finn DH Z is a ten-year-old offspring of Va-vite x Stakkato, out of the breeding of De Dwerse Hagen BVBA. Until two years ago, this gelding was owned by Euro Horse and was ridden by Jos Verlooy in the young horse classes.

This World Cup is one out of seven qualifiers of the North American competition for the World Cup final that will be held in Göteborg, Sweden, in April 2019. Out of 38 candidates, ten horse and rider combinations managed to clear the first round, built by Alan Wade (who was also the course designer at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon), and were advanced to the jump-off.

Five of the ten pairs in the jump-off managed to produce another clear. It turned out to be a real battle for first place, in which no one could catch up the 41.33 seconds of Eugenio and Victer Finn.

Charlie Jayne crossed the finish line in 49.75 seconds with Armice Z, by Air Jordan Z x Odermus R, bred by the Irma Donselaar in the Netherlands. It would be good enough for fifth place. Matthias Tromp also made it to the jump-off with Chicago Court Eversem Z (Con Spirito R x Papillon Rouge), but they had to settle for tenth place on four faults.

In addition, the Australian rider Scott Keach guided Born To Be Picobello Z (Berlin x Carthago Z) to fifth place in Fiday’s 1.50m leveled main class as well.
