The actual competition infrastructure at Zangersheide has been completely redesigned in 2006. The three sand arenas and the training paddocks can stand all weather circumstances so that the riders and horses can participate to the competitions at Zangersheide under perfect conditions.

Zangersheide is world famous for horse breeding. But also show jumping competitions are at home at Zangersheide. We have been organizing the world championships for young horses for twelve years now. In 2006 the FEI World Breeding Championships Jumping will take place from September 14th till September 17th. This will be the first show of the Zangersheide Equestrian Weeks in September 2006.

The second weekend will start on Thursday 21th September with the European Open for Future Masters (CSI***) a new competition for young riders from 18 to 25 years old. The finals for these riders will be on Saturday September 23th. Next to the young horses Zangersheide also wants to give a chance to the young riders. It is often very hard for these riders to start at international horse shows because the famous seniors always get more possibilities to ride. This is also the reason why the 5 best young riders of the Gold league can chose on Friday evening if they want to start in the Final of the European Open for Future Masters on Saturday or in the Open European Masters / Final of the Global Champions Tour (CSI****) on Sunday.

The Global Champions Tour, an initiative of Jan Tops, deserves our appreciation an respect because of the world wide importance of promotion of the equestrian sport and because of the fact that more international riders can participate to high level shows.

This four stars competition will take place from September 22th till September 24th 2006. The Grand Prix with 150 000 € prize money, on Sunday is also the final of the Global Champions tour, a series of high level competitions that started in Palm Beach (USA). In addition to the normal prize money a bonus of 600 000 € will be divided as follows between the 8 best riders of the tour: 1 – 250 000 € / 2 – 125 000 € / 3 – 75 000 € / 4 – 50 000 € / 5 – 40 000 € / 6 – 30 000 € / 7 – 20 000 € / 8 – 10 000 €. We promise that will do our utmost best to give this final the necessary style for our spectators, sponsors, riders and officials.
