The ‘Open Days’ in February break the silence of winter. On the threshold of the new breeding season Zangersheide opens its doors to show you the best to be found in the showjumping horse world.
Our stallion show allows you to see the quality of our stallion station with your own eyes. Our prime sires are presented with expert comment. You can obtain all the information you want about our stallions so that you can make a perfect choice. Our ‘Open Days’ offer you a peek in our international kitchen: you can take a look at our stables and insemination centre, but you can also visit the laboratory.
Z-Festival
July is a festival month and this does not go unnoticed in Lanaken. At Z-Festival the breeders of Studbook Zangersheide show their products to the main public, a professional jury gives them points and places them in the various classes.
During Z-Festival also the selection for the Zangersheide Quality Auctions are made, which are held in September every year.
The third day of the festival is reserved for oncoming talents. The 3-yr-olds show their best in a free jumping competition.
The Z showjumping for 4-, 5- and 6-yr-olds is the final class of this three day festival. This initiative. This initiative is the reaction of Studbook Zangersheide to the demand of the Z-breeders for showing their young talents in performance before a large public.
World Championships, Sires of the World, Stallion Selection and Auction
In September Domain Zangersheide is the centre from which showjumping talents conquer the world. This closing event of the breeding season has become an established value in the international showjumping world! In unparalleled manner the relationship between sport, breeding and the trade is place don show before world-wide interest.
In the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses 5-, 6- and 7-yr-old horses jump for the world titles in three arenas with all-weather floors! And winning is worth it in many way, a place on the honourary platform gives the winners world title status and the breeders and the riders are rewarded with a premium.
Who are the new talents? To answer that question is the difficult task of the jury at the Stallion Selection of Studbook Zangersheide. Highly promising and ambitious stallions are critically viewed. The best will get a chance to prove themselves in breeding.
At the Zangersheide Quality Auctions the very best foals are auctioned. Our auctions offer Z-breeders the chance to receive a top price for their top products.
The older stallions play a prominent role because in the FEI Sires of the World they can show their talent and jumping power to the professional world. With this competition the circle is closed as in this 4 day event in September all aspects are covered. From foal to top-class sport horse and from newly licensed stallion to established sire.
