Absolutely stunning price for 2-yr-old Cascade Heureka Z

21 / 06 / 2017
For Zangersheide it is a matter of honour to search for and find the best bloodlines and to offer these to interested buyers all over the world. It was therefore no surprise that the second online auction was an undisputed success. The young top-class talent Cascade Heureka Z moved to Sweden for the phenomenal amount of 105,000 euro.

When the clock had only just started ticking, it promised to be a direct hit. In no time at all, the meter reached 40,000 euro and that was just the beginning. The auction moved on and interested buyers grabbed the chance to add this genetic miracle to their stables.

Understandably, because Cascade Heureka Z is a breeding-technical tour de force. First and foremost she is a daughter of one of the best showjumping horses of this decade, the Holsteiner stallion Casall. This dark brown horse collected, ridden by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, more than two million euro in prize monies in the arena’s from Aachen to Calgary. Dam’s sire Verdi is another icon. Under Maikel Van der Vleuten this meanwhile 15-yr-old stallion has been performing at the highest level for five years on end and was good for two Olympic medals. And if that was not enough, the dam’s line of Cascade Heureka goes back to Liscalgot, the horse with which Dermott Lennon won the world title in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, in 2002.

This was therefore a pedigree that made your mouth water, a unique chance, as the breeders realised only too well. In the end a Swedish buyer won the game. A final bid of as much as 105,000 euro was enough to take the cake.

For the other buyers there is no reason to be sad. A new auction is already being prepared. On 1 July at 10.00 o’clock, the meter will again start ticking and several broodmares and breeding products from Ashford Farm will go under the hammer, including a few mares that performed at 1m60 level and their offspring. Another great opportunity!
