Belgium wins finals after clear round of Judy and Ice!

27 / 09 / 2015
As Cold As Ice, that was precisely the manner in which Judy Ann Melchior sailed through the Furusiyya Nations Cup finals on her top mare As Cold As Ice Z (Artos Z). After one time penalty on Thursday and a clear round on Saturday in the finals for the top eight, she won the Furusiyya Cup for Belgium, which was good for half a million euro in prize monies. That became clear after the very last starter, Gregory Wathelet on his stallion Conrad de Hus, jumped a double clear. He was the only one to earn the bonus of 200,000 euro which was awarded to all combinations with a double clear round. And also the fine results of only one fault from Olivier Philippaerts on the relatively young, Z-licensed stallion H&M Armstrong vd Kapel Z (Quasimodo Z) contributed to this victory. Jos Lansink and For Cento had two faults. Earlier that day Doda de Miranda won the Queen’s Cup from Barcelona for Brazil on AD Nouvelle Europe Z (Nelson Z). Christian Ahlmann, who had one fault on Taloubet Z in the two rounds of the Nations Cup, finished in fourth place on Reavnir in this 1.50m class.
