Breeding world has to do without Robin II Z

26 / 06 / 2014
When will it stop? June has become a tragic month in the showjumping sport. It started on June 1, when the French Marie Demonte, on her way back home from CSIO Lisboa, lost her three top horses in a traffic accident. Yesterday Hubert Bourdy lost his fight against cancer. In the last week of June Sapphire and Con Air died. And now it was the turn of the 27-yr-old stallion Robin II Z (Ramiro Z x Almé Z), which, since pensioned off in France, was kept by his old groom who gave him a fine retirement. Robin II Z was born at Studfarm Zangersheide as a full brother to Robin I Z. He performed in the sport under Thomas Velin, with whom he won the Helsinki GP in 1995, for example. At present two of his offspring are still in the top sport, Qapitol de Montsec under Marie Hecart and Quova des Vains under Luca Maria Moneta. His brother Robin I Z became famous in Sweden, for example because of his products Butterfly Flip and Mynta. (Source: Grand Prix Replay)
