Carrabis Z runner up in GP Wellington

05 / 03 / 2018
The Zangersheide stallion Carrabis Z and the Irish Richie Moloney closed the eighth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Palm Beach with a second place in the 1.60m GP. Out of 45 entries in the Grand Prix, 11 duos advanced to the jump-off. Of which four again stayed clear. Carrabis Z and Moloney went last in the jump-off. They left all the jumps up, but going faster than fan favorite Beezie Madden seemed a mission impossible. In a time of 43.16 seconds they ended as runner up.

Carrabis Z is a descendant of Canabis Z out of a Jus de Pomme dam. 15 years ago he was born in Belgium at Frank Mathys from Montenaken. Now Carrabis Z is owned by Equinimity LLC.

Besides Sunday’s GP, there was also Saturday’s four-star Nations Cup. Teams of four represented the nations of nine countries. The top six teams returned in the second round, which were Chile, Venezuela, Ireland, Brazil, Mexico and Great Britain. Mexico finished third with ten penalty points. Team Member Eugeno Garza Perez saddled Amani SL Z, an offspring of Asca Z x Cumano, also bred in Belgium by Thierry Hendrickx from Paal-Beringen.
