Check Picobello Z wins opening class WEF 2015

08 / 01 / 2015
Eric Lamaze and Check Picobello Z (Cardento) won the opening 1.45m class at the Winter Equestrian Festival 2015 in Wellington, close to Palm Beach in Florida. The outdoor circuit breaks the record again with more entries, riders and a lot more horses. The level is steadily going up every year. Eric Lamaze describes his Check Picobello Z as one of his top horses for the WEF 2015. 'I have always been crazy about this horse, from the moment Artisan Farm bought him from Ilan Ferder, two years ago by now. He did not have an easy mouth. That has needed some time, but now he is ready for it.' As a 6-yr-old Check Picobello reached the jump-off at the WC in Lanaken and made the top ten under Lowie Joppen, who was his current owner, together with Luc Ruant from Picobello Horses, who was his breeder. The horse already attracted attention in the Youngster classes in Aachen last year under Eric Lamaze. Lamaze feels he has a string of exceptionally powerful horses for the oncoming WEF season. His horses have all been rested. The former Canadian Olympic World Champion did not appear in the ring since the Furusiyya Final in Barcelona. We are bound to hear more about him in the next few weeks and months!
