Chill R Z jumps to second place in Kentucky, victory for Calavda Z in Del Mar

21 / 05 / 2013
Zangersheide upholds its position in producing commercially solid horses. Our blue-yellow four-legged friends are doing remarkably well in the USA. The Kentucky Spring Horse Shows came to a close yesterday with the Mary Rena Murphy GP in Lexington with Margie Engle and Royce claiming the first prize. Galloping to second place was Charlie Jayne aboard Chill R Z (Chellano Z), a horse originating from Stal de Regenwortelhoeve in Wortel, where he was brought on by Sven Van Dijck. With one fault to his name ZZ Top vh Schaarbroek Z (Zandor Z), who was born in Belgium in Van Craen´s stables in Berlaar, secured seventh place. We were also able to report a second and seventh place for the stallions Jonkheer Z and Don VHP Z in Del Mar last week. Quite remarkably though, it was yet again a Z-horse that triumphed here in the $60.000 GP. Although the Z had dropped off the lists, Eduardo Menezes and Calavda Z (Calvaro Z) were the only combination to finish with a double clear. Research proved the Zangersheide-registered Calavda to be a product of Paul Schockemöhle´s stud farm.
