Curie de Kestemont Z, For Fox vd Heldenlaan Z and Caveman DH Z in the medals in Gesves

18 / 08 / 2013
Quite some success for Zangersheide in Gesves, where the 4-, 5- and 6-yr-olds jumped for the Belgian title. Levisto Alpha Z was elite champion in the 4-yr-olds. In the 3-yr-olds Curie de Kestemont Z (Cloud Z x Basje) from breeder-owner Kurt Van den Eynde from Galmaarden was the winner of the ‘Medal of the King’, competition, a free jumping class and conformation selection judged by an international jury. Saturday was for the sorting out. On Sunday in the finals Curie de Kestemont Z became the unchallenged winner. He had a total of 89.5 percent, three-and-a-half percent more than number two Kirr Royal van Paemel, a product of Cicero van Paemel Z. The jury felt that Curie de Kestemont Z was still a little hasty on the first day, but he made up for that on the Sunday with beautiful and concentrated jumps and an excellent technique. In combination with the points he had earned for his conformation, presence and movements, this earned him a well deserved first place. Recently Curie still finished fifth at Z-Festival in Lanaken. On Saturday night, in the Belgian Cup for 7-yr-olds in Gesves, For Fox vd Heldenlaan Z (For Pleasure x Pinkus) from breeder Reinhold Mues won the finals under Dominique Hendrickx. The day before he had already finished second in the second round. One fault on day one deprived him of the final victory in this Cup, in which he finished in third place. This earned him a ticket for the WC for 7-yr-olds in Lanaken. The next day the bronze went to the Z-bred gelding Caveman DH Z (Cardento x Corland), bred by Toby Huys from West-Flanders. Last month Patrik Spits had the second class for 5-yr-olds on this horse at Z-Festival. That result had immediately qualified him for the BC in Gesves. In the 6-yr-olds category there was a fourth place for Caio Carvalho on Apollo dl Bonette Z, a son of Asca Z, owned by his breeder Michael Dorigo. Our own stallion Crowntano Z (Crown Z) also reached the finals and even the top ten under Tobias Thoenes. One unlucky fault on the out of the combination kept this magnificent duo out of the jump-off.
