FEI World Breeding Championships jumping for young horses Zangersheide : 800 horses, 40 countries

25 / 09 / 2012

The FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for young horses start on Thursday with the first qualification for 5-, 6-, and 7-yr old horses. On Friday the same horses jump the second qualification. The qualified horses for the final have a day off on Saturday the others jump the Consolation. Sunday is D-day for the young horses with the three finals on the programme.

It will surprise nobody that Leon Melchior was the first to take the initiative to organise the World Championships for young horses. Meanwhile all the Olympic disciplines have their own World Championships. Zangersheide wanted to gather all the people involved in sport, breeding and trade at one event. The intention is a success, not less than 800 horses from 40 countries will participate at the World Championships. No other international championship counts so many participants from so many different countries.

But there is more! Simultaneously with the World Championships there is the Belgian Championship show jumping seniors (from Wednesday until Saturday), the Z Quality Auction (on Friday and Saturday evening), the Zangersheide Stallion Approvals (from Thursday until Saterday) and the Sires of the World (on Friday and Saturday).
