Karline De Brabander wins the Sires of the World on Fantomas de Muze

20 / 09 / 2014
49 stallions started in the FEI Zangersheide Sires of the World Grand Prix, a 1 m 50 table A course with jump off, counting for the Longines Ranking. Eleven riders qualified for the jump off. In the jump off Karline De Brabander on Fantomas de Muze, a 9 yr old son of Sandro Boy x For Pleasure was just a little bit faster than Nicola Philippaerts on Forever d’Arco ter Linden (Darco x Tenor Manciais). For the daughter of Joris De Brabander this victory is definitely one of the highlights of the season. Karline : “I’m super happy with this victory, it is not easy to win with so many good riders and good horses in the class. I was a little bit lucky in the jump off when he jumped the triple bar to big. Perhaps that big jump made me win some time, so that I was faster than Nicola.”
Nicola Philippaerts : “I just had to ride faster but I’m very happy with my second place and most of all of the way Forever d’Arco ter Linden jumped.
Swedish Erika Lickhammer was third with Giljano van de Bosrand : “I have Giljano (Orlando x Clinton) only two months. I rode some horses for the owners before and after Falsterbö Giljano came to me. I decided to ride forward in the jump off but not crazy. He is only eight and this is his first Grand Prix at this level.”
