Oliva blue-yellow colored

12 / 02 / 2018
Last weekend the ranking of the second part of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva, near Valencia was blue-yellow colored.

Don Diaro Z (Diarado x Clinton) showed his good shape. After an eighth place in the course against the clock at 1.35m level on Friday, a third place followed in the 1.40m class yesterday. The eight-year-old Don Diaro Z is ridden by the French Benjamin Ghelfi. Ulrike van Overis Z (Udarco of Overis x Narcos II) and the British lady rider Gemma Wright took the tenth place with four faults in round one. Both Ulrike and her sire Udarco van Overis are bred by Studfarm Overis of Gerard Lenaerts and Sigrid Gielen from Peer.

Ulrike van Overis Z was not the only offspring of Udarco van Overis that ended in the places of honor in Oliva. In the 1.45m table A with jump-off, Umbrella Ter Wilgen Z (Udarco of Overis x VDL Corland) became third under the French rider Edward Levy. Also the fifth place was taken by a horse out of the breeding of Studfarm Overis, more specific by Deauville from Overis Z (Darco x Ramiro Z) and the Swedish Jannike West. The ninth place went to Colina van Pijnvenhof Z (Colman x Parco) and Dominique Hendrickx.

Quolita Z (Quasimodo Zx Ramiro Z) and the French Harold Boisset were second in the 1.45m class with two phases. The life story of Quolita Z is quite remarkable. Quolita is born at Anja Aerts from St. Willebrord in the Netherlands and was originally sold to the Danish lady rider Rikke Haastrup. There she was declared dead after surgery, but the mare struggled back to life. Through a midway stop in Belgium she ended up in her current French stables. The third place of the 1.45m class went to Chidame Z and Pius Schizer. They already ended third before. Jean Christophe De Grande and Belano vd Wijnhoeve Z (Berlin x Darco) finished fifth.

Donna Doria Z (Diamant de Semilly x Concorde) and Loic Cannaert clocked in 34.68 seconds in the 1.40m class against the clock. They secured the victory with a two seconds lead. In this class, Kelly Vandousselaere and Scato van de Molenbrug Z (Hunter's Scendix x Charisma I) also remained double clear. Their time of 40.32 seconds referred them to place nine.

In the one-star competition, Quitona de la Cour Z (Quintus x Major de la Cour) and the Korean Jeonghoon Heo were third in the 1.20m class.
