Olivier Philippaerts and Challenge vd Begijnakker Z third in Kentucky World Cup

03 / 11 / 2015
A month ago Olivier Philippaerts took over the gelding Challenge vd Begijnakker Z from his brother Nicola. In the Lexington World Cup competition in Kentucky he started the horse of breeder Bart Keisse at the highest level for the first time and the result was better than he could ever have dreamt: fourth in the CP Grand Prix and third in the World Cup competition on Sunday. Challenge vd Begijnakker Z was originally started by Ludo Philippaerts, but at the EC in Herning he lost the sight of one eye. When Ludo threw his towel in the ring, Nicola took over the horse and in spite of the eye injury Nicola immediately jumped GPs with him. Because of a re-shuffle of several horses, now Olivier is riding Challenge and he may well be reluctant to give him back again.
