Prince Royal Z wins GP La Baule

15 / 05 / 2017
The Brazilian outsider Pedro Muylaert won the Grand Prix de La Baule, one of the classics of the showjumping world. On his Z-bred Prince Royal Z (Rey Z) bred by Marleen Melchior, he beat the public’s favourite in the jump-off, Patrice Delaveau, on time. Muylaert only has Prince Royal Z under saddle for a few months and also won in Wellington in the final week of the WEF. Under his former South American rider Prince Royal Z had already reached the finals in the last Olympics. A little later he also won a World Cup. Without question, this Z-horse is one of the most powerfully rising quadrupeds on the circuit.

Several other Z-horses jumped well in international GPs on this second Sunday of May. In Windsor Jessica Springsteen finished fifth on Cynar VA Z (Clarimo) bred by Van Ahlwörden. In Drammen the seventh place went to Taloubetdarco K Z (Taloubet Z) under Toshiki Masui, another Olympic combination. The seventh place in the World Cup of Curitiba was for Carthoes B Z (Carthago Z), a full brother of Coltaire Z, also bred by the Bruers family, under Felipe Amaral. Carna Z finished in sixth place in the CSI3* GP of Lexington and this horse, a product of Crown Z, was bred by Uwe Hame and Ute Keller.
