William Funnell claims first 1.50m victory

02 / 04 / 2016
The first GP qualifier of the CSI3* in Lanaken was won by William Funnell (Billy Congo). The British rider was hotly pursued by the world’s number one rider and penultimate starter Simon Delestre (Quechua d'Emeraude) from France, but he did not go fast enough. Penelope Leprevost (Hija vh Strokapelleken) and Christian Ahlmann (Reavnir) were preceded by the Belgian coming lady Zoë Conter, daughter of Stephex-man Stephan Conter. In sixth place we find the Japanese Toshiki Masui and Taloubetdarco K Z (Taloubet Z).

Albert Zoer, earlier this week already the winner of a major class and number three in the CSI2* GP, now won the 1.45m on Cancun. He beat Eoin Gallagher (Luxor), Christian Ahlmann (Cornado II Z) and William Funnell, the winner of the 1.50m. Also Malin Baryard-Johnson (VDL Corporal) made it to the top five. She won this morning’s 1.40m class, by the way. In short: the world top is this weekend at work on Belgian soil in Lanaken to be precise.
