Z-horses in the spotlight during CSIJ-YR Mechelen

28 / 12 / 2017
In Jumping Mechelen it has been proven that Z-horses are also excellent for successful CSI Junior and Young Riders results!

On the first day Kingston Town 111 Z jumped to a second place in the 1m40 class under the saddle of Dieter Vermeiren. Kingston Town 111 Z is a son of Kashmir van Schuttershof and was bred by Harrie Theeuwes Stables. His mother, the Chellano Z-daughter Shahenaz is also known as Foreplay 111 and jumps at the highest level herself! On the second day the duo also did well: Vermeiren took a lot of risks in the jump-off and set the fastest time with 33 seconds. Unfortunately, one rail down referred them to a fourth place.
In the 1m30 on Wednesday it was Thibault Philippaerts who was in the spotlight with Crescenda Z. He became eighth with the Chippendale Z-daughter after one fault in the jump-off. Crescenda Z was bred in France by Priscilla Pottier Glaser and Jean-Noel Pottier. Last month, during the CSI3* of Mijas, Philippaerts and Crescenda Z were placed several times at 1m40 level, even though the mare is only 7 years old.
In the 1m30 on Thursday Gilles Nuytens took the second place with Foulon Z de Wulf Selection. This H&M Forever d'Arco ter Linden-son is a half-brother of Gloria de Wulf Selection, who competed at 1m45-level with Thibault Philippaerts. Before Jumping Mechelen, Foulon Z was successfully ridden by Richard Kierkegaard. Foulon Z is bred by De Wulf Paarden DWS from Dikkelvenne.
Thanks to Lien van Ende, also the tenth place in this class went to a Z-horse. Cita P Z, a Calvaro Z x Utrillo Z-daughter bred by Sam Polleunis from Kortenaken, already had a good season with Van Ende. They were able to place themselves several times in the top ten this summer, with a third and fifth place during CSI2* Lier last month!
