Z-horses just missed victory in Lummen finals

23 / 04 / 2014

Last week there were already several victories for young Z-bred horses in the Spring Tour in Lummen. This trend continued in the second week, but not in the finals. So far the moderately good news, for in the 5-yr-olds the blue-yellow quadrupeds earned a second, third and fourth place. However, victory went to Nick Verlies on his Oldenburger Stalois JPS, by Stakkato. Joris Schepers came second on Orage Z (Ogano Sitte), bred by the Brems family. Chester VI Z (Clintissimo Z) finished in third place. He was ridden by Leen Verwimp and was bred by Vuskens Consulting BVBA. In fourth place came Ciaro vh Lepelhof Z (Cluysenaer vd Heffinck), ridden by his breeder Ben Van Den Driessche.

Also in the 6-yr-olds a Z-horse just missed victory. Jeroen Appelen finished in second place on Alezie Z (Accardi), bred by Luc Heeren. Also on the Saturday there was a second place in the Ranking class for Cash del Mar Z (Conan Z) from the stables of Jos Lansink and ridden by the German Tim Hoster. Cash was bred by the Wijnans family from Hamme.

Finally, on Easter Sunday, the last day of the Spring Tour, there was a third place for Chanel d’Ysenbeeck Z (Calvaro Z), a new horse from the stables of Pieter Devos, bred by Herlinde De Coninck from Asse. In tenth place in these finals came Gudrun Patteet on Sea Coast Diamant Z (ex-Diamant Star de Tiji Z, by Diamant de Semilly), according to the insiders the top favourite for the Belgian Championship for 7-yr-olds which will be ridden in Lummen next week.

Earlier that week there had been victories for the Z-horses Andino Z (Andiamo Z) for Ireland, Sea Coast Diamant Z (ex-Diamant Star de Tiji Z, by Diamant de Semilly) under Gudrun Patteet, Verdine-S Z (Verdi) under Virginie Thonon, Carrera vd Kattevennen Z (Conterno Grande) under Nico Baerts and Cupido vd Hoefslag Z (Cartani) ridden by Jan Vermeiren.
