Zandor Z product wins GP in Lier

20 / 10 / 2014
The CSI2* GP of Lier was won by the seventeen year old Dutch junior and Young Rider champion Lisa Nooren. She rode her champion mare Royalty des Isles (Zandor Z), which her father Henk Nooren had started at the highest level last year by Lauren Hough. The American top-class rider won in Beervelde, Treffen and at Stephex. Lisa Nooren first of all beat her countrywoman Maureen Bonder, who had been in the lead until then. Even our superior Belgian champion Gilles Dunon could not beat them and finished in third place on Fou de Toi vd Keihoeve, still in top form, after winning the gold in the BC at Zangersheide.
After a third place in the qualifier, Dominique Joassin and his stallion Best Of Opus Dei Z (Balou du Rouet) finished ninth in this GP. He had reached the jump-off after an early clear round, but then had one jumping faults. Best of Opus Dei Z was born in Sar-Lez-Spa, near Sap, and was bred by the Henkes family out of Opus Dei van Berkenbroeck (Jus de Pomme). Best Of has been doing well for some time. He won the GP of Dinard last summer and represented Belgium in the Nations Cup in Brazil, at CSIO Porto Alegre.
Christophe Vanderhasselt won a 1.35m class on Saturday on Famoso d’Ive Z (For Pleasure), a 7-yr-old gelding who had made the top ten at last year’s WC in Lanaken under his brother Yves Vanderhasselt.
