Zangersheide also closes weekend with two victories

15 / 12 / 2014
Yes! We already warned you. It would be a good weekend for the studbook with the last letter of the alphabet and it was. It started with two victories in Geneva and it closed with a victory in La Coruna. At the Longines show in the Spanish autonomous region Galicia Constant Van Paesschen won on Citizenguard Cadjanine Z (Canabis Z) after a Winning Round for which as many as nineteen cominations had qualified after going clear. Their time determined the starting order and that is why Constant could see which way the cat jumped. He was the penultimate starter and beat Katharina Offel (Quebracho de Semilly) and Karim El Zoghby (Amelia). Regina Z (Rex Z) and Harrie Smolders went clear in the Winning Round and finished in seventh place. That tells you that the others must have gone like lightning. In the 1.45m class the second place was for Caoio Carvalho and Apollo de la Bonnette Z (Asca Z). In Roosendaal the Christmas Grand Prix of the CSI2* show was won by Leon Thijssen on Heartthago Z (Heartbreaker), who followed the example of his daughter and also won a cup. The fourth place in the GP was for Gigolo, a gelding by Cicero van Paemel Z. On Saturday in Lier the GP qualifier was won by Best of Opus Dei Z (Balou du Rouet) ridden by Dominique Joassin. In the young horses Jos Verlooy finished second in the finals on Victer Finn DH Z (Va-Vite) who stayed clear for three days on end. In Salzburg Sterrehof’s Cayetano Z (Caretano Z) finished in sixth place in the 1.60m GP under Julia Kayser.
