One is jumping again from Maastricht, across the border to Opglabbeek and 1,700 kilometers further south in Valencia, Spain. The Z-horses are the leaders on this tour from north to south. In Maastricht Doron Kuipers won the opening class on Attention ET Z (Andiamo Z) from Stal Everse. Attention, attention, Atention ET Z was bred by De Sloovere from the historic town of Brugge. Johnny Pals and Charmeur Z (Chellano Z) bred by J. Boesmans also reached the podium. In Opglabbeek, in the popular Horse and Friends Event (CSI2*) For Fox Heldenlaan Z (For Pleasure) bred by Isabelle Van Eeckhout won the warming up over 1.35m on Thursday and on Friday the Six Bars, the last fence standing at 2.05m. Also Gilles Detry (Ceres Z bred by V. Vandaele) reached the last round, but then withdrew. He finished third. The GP qualifier was won by Abdel Saïd on Luron S Z (Lord Z), an 8-yr-old breeding product from the late top-class breeder Sylvain De Wreede from Hamme. In the southern outdoor competition in Oliva, Spain, the winner was the Belgian grey Merqusio, a son of Cicero van Paemel Z, ridden by the British Chloe Aston. The day before her countryman Jamie Wingrove won the Youngster finals. On Retro III, also by Cicero Z, he was the best in the 6-yr-olds, he had done the same on the Wednesday, by the way. On Grupello Z (Grandeur) he won the finals of the 7-yr-olds. Grupello Z was born seven years ago at the Vandermeersch family from Kluisbergen. Wednesday’s winner of the 7-yr-olds was Cougar G&C Z (Calvados Z) from Cecilie Hatteland, bred by J. Devenge.
