The second week of Z-Tour

15 / 04 / 2019

During the second week of the Z-Tour, from April 11 till April 14, no less than 2247 rounds were ridden at the three tracks in Lanaken. Diadarco van Evendael Z turned out to be the the second week’s best Z horse at three-star level. With Koen Vereecke in the saddle, this offspring of Diamant de Semilly x Darco didn't make any mistake during the whole show. And it gets even better, because the ten-year-old gelding also collected a complete top three. On Friday Koen and Diadarco finished third at 1.35m level. In Saturday’s 1.40m class with two phases, they did even better and became second. They finished in style, with the highlight of their competition: winning Sunday’s three-star 1.45m class against the clock with a 1.5 second advantage!

At 1.35m level, Paul Delforge and Carla du Banney Z (Clintissimo Z x Jaguar Mail) won the U25 class. Romain Potin and Sex Appeal 111 Z (Spartacus TN x Heartbreaker) became second and third in the senior series. Patrick McEntee and Best Of Mury Marais Z (Bonaparte Z x Feinschnitt I of the Richter) took the victory in a 1.30m class with two phases.

Piet Raijmakers Jr. and the seven-year-old Olaya Z (Ogano Sitte x Concorde) did the same on Sunday. Carron Nicol from England and Nistria vd Winning Z (Nonstop x San Patrignano Cassini) ended in second place, followed by Louise Le Grelle and Crescendo Mb Z (Clinton). Furthermore, Danny Stappaerts became fifth with Stash 3 Z (Stakkato x Carthago Z) and the clear round by Mike van Olst and Zandor Alpha Z (Zeus x Polydor) was rewarded with a tenth place.

The performance of Koen Vereecke and Diadarco van Evendael in the CSI3*, was repeated by Alexander Liefsoens with Elnica CL Z in the competition for six-year-old horses. Elnica CL Z is a daughter of Elvis ter Putte out of the dam of Gudrun Patteet’s Sea Coast Pebbles Z. Elnica hasn’t missed her entrance at international level. She jumped clear three days in a row and became second in the 1.20m opening class, won the 1.25m course with two phases and finished in third place in the closing 1.30m class against the clock.

Alexander Liefsoens also finished fourth in the closing class with Esteluna CL Z (Elvis ter Putte x Nabab de Reve) and tenth with Echo van Spalbeek Z (Elvis ter Putte x Cornet’s Stern). Esteluna only rode clears as well and already gained a fourth and a sixth place before.

Chakilly Z, a son of Chacco-Blue x VDL Cardento, and the German rider Jens Christ also managed to finish each course within the top ten and to take a fifth place in the final.

Pénélope Leprévost (Gfe Excalibur de La Tour Vidal) won the three-star GP. Her 15-year-old daughter, Eden Leprévost Blinlebreton, jumped to second place in the 1.25m speed class with Copacobana of the Paddocks Z (Coriano Z x Papillon Rouge). Romain Potin and Carla du Stremberg Z (Clintissimo Z x Comte du Stremberg) became fourth, followed by Mike Van Olst and Miss's Blue S Z (Mr. Blue x Carinjo HDC) in fifth place. Darragh Kenny and the six-year-old I’m Special LVS Z (I’m Special de Muze x Canturo) ended eighth.

Catherine Gustin and Alma Vita de Septon Z (A Big Boy x Ogano Sitte) took a third and a fourth place in the 1.20m and 1.15m classes.
