The Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten and his 13-year-old gelding Beauville Z N.O.P. (Bustique x Jumpy des Fontaines) added another resounding victory to their list of honons yesterday! The bronze medalists of last year's World Championship in Herning competed at Azelhof, Lier, last weekend and became the winners of the CSI2* GP! Van der Vleuten and the breeding product of Pascal Habets remained clear in the basic round and were one of the 15 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. They finished in a time of 37.88 seconds, giving them a quarter of a second ahead of the competition.

Also on Sunday, the French rider Julien Anquetin was placed with the 8-year-old stallion Crack d'Aiguilly Z (Comme Il Faut x Nabab de Rêve – B: Olivier Perreau Earl Ecurie Perreau Et Fils). During the 1.35m class they managed to keep it clear in both the 1st and the 2nd phase and with that performance they secured a 6th place in the ranking.

During the 1.40m main class on Saturday, the Belgian rider Mathias Hazebroek jumped into the spotlights with the 9-year-old gelding Cointreau Vd Wouwerse Velden Z (Cupido Vd Hoefslag Z x Der Senaat 111 – B: Theo Hazebroek). In a jump-off for which 12 combinations were able to qualify, he managed to take the 4th place in the ranking with a clear round. With that he did slightly better than Maurice van Roosbroeck with the 9-year-old gelding Emir du Coeur des Collines Z (Elvis Ter Putte x Calypso III – B: V.vrijdag Vandewiel). They saw a pole roll out of the cups in that jump-off and so became 7th in the ranking.

The victory in this 1.40m class got a blue/yellow tint thanks to Maikel van der Vleuten and his 13-year-old gray mare Kamara van 't Heike, a daughter of our chestnut stallion Epleaser Z and Carthago Z who was bred by Karel Boonen. Van der Vleuten and Kamara van 't Heike, who also became 2nd in the 1.45m class on Thursday, rushed to the finish in 36.69 seconds, giving them a full 2 second lead over the competition.
