After the three-star show of Indoor Friesland in Leeuwarden, on Dutch soil there was some international action again at Peelbergen Equestrian Center, Kronenberg, last weekend. During the CSI2* GP, that was on the program yesterday afternoon, a podium place was reserved for the Dutch rider Lars Kersten with the 9-year-old stallion Funky Fred Marienshof Z, a son of Fantomas de Muze and Libero H who was bred by Stal Marienshof and who is also approved for Studbook Zangersheide. Kersten and Funky Fred Marienshof Z remained clear in the basic round and were therefore one of the 13 combinations that managed to secure a place in the jump-off. They once again managed to ensure a clear round and this performance earned them a 2nd place in the rankings.

During the 1.45m high Longines Ranking class on Friday evening there was a blue/yellow victory and this was achieved by the Brazilian rider Thiago Ribas Da Costa with the 10-year-old chestnut mare Catharina W&W Z, a daughter of Centurio 22 and Griseldi who was bred by Wilfried Rutten and with whom Ribas Da Costa already performed strongly in Bonheiden last month. Ribas Da Costa and Catharina W&W Z, who also finished 4th in the 1.35m class on Thursday during the opening day, rushed to the finish in 37.60 seconds and so managed to beat the competition.

It was also a particularly good show for the Belgian rider Jules Van Hoydonck with the 10-year-old chestnut mare Elize Z, a daughter of Elvis Ter Putte and Prince Royal who was bred by Kris Van Kerckhove. Van Hoydonck and Elize Z started their show with a victory during the 1.35m high opening class on Thursday and they also received the leading role during the 1.40m class on Friday.
