The third week of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington International drew a lot of attention in the United States last weekend, but also at the TerraNova Equestrian Center in Myakka City a two-star competition took place. The CSI2* GP on Saturday was particularly successful for the Zangersheide horses with an integral blue and yellow podium.

The leading role was undoubtedly for by the Chilean rider Samuel Parot, who managed to take both victory and the second place with his Zangersheide horses. He won this GP with his home-bred gelding Buga Z, a 13-year-old son of Chester Z in combination with Quality Touch Z, who jumped from 99th to 25th place in our Zangersheide ranking in December. Parot and Buga Z were one of the five combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off and they were the only ones who managed to keep it clear again.

But Parot also took the second place in the ranking and this with the 11-year-old grey gelding Captain Z, a son of Calvino Z and Voltaire who was bred in the Netherlands by M. Bosboom. Parot managed to do it more than 4.5 seconds faster with Captain Z in 36.92 seconds than with Buga Z, but he also saw a pole roll out of the cups.

Third place went to the American lady rider Caroline Mawhinney with the 12-year-old mare Dance du Buisson Z (Dutch Capitol x Favoritas xx – B: Haras Du Buisson). They finished in 44.38 seconds, but also ran into 4 penalty points. In seventh place we saw the Chilean lady rider Trinidad Soffia Richard with the 10-year-old mare Cumorka Z (HH Copin van de Broy x Calato Z – B: J.G.J. Winkelmolen). They managed to keep all the poles in the cups in the basic round, but were charged 3 penalty points for exceeding the allowed time.

The day before, the American lady rider Hallie Grimes managed to jump into the picture with the 16-year-old grey stallion Leasure Z, a son of Levisto Z and Treasure Z who was bred at our Studfarm and who comes from the same dam line as, among others, Crowntano Z and Corico Z. During the 1.40m class they managed to stay clear and this performance was good for the second place in the ranking. Also in this class there was an eighth place for the Mexican lady rider Claudia Ballesteros Zavala with the 13-year-old grey mare Destiny Second Life Z (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini I – B: Thierry Hendrickx/Second Life Stables BV).

Finally, in the 1.45m class on Thursday, the Colombian rider Juan Andres Vegas Enriquez finished ninth with the 14-year-old stallion Clever V' T Wulverhof Z (Cardento VDL x Jouyeux Ardent – B: Regis Labousse). In a jump-off for which thirtheen combinations were able to qualify, they ran into 4 penalty points.
