Three weeks after their victory in the CSI3* GP, the American rider Kent Farrington and his 10-year-old chestnut gelding Landon, who was born at the home of Breeder Danny Nijs as Crack de Nyze Z, delivered another top performance at Wellington International last weekend! During the 5th week of the famous Winter Equestrian Festival, they jumped to a podium place during the CSI5* GP on Saturday evening! Farrington and the son of our chestnut stallion Comilfo Plus Z were one of the 9 combinations that kept it clear in the basic round and so qualified for the jump-off. In that jump-off they managed to repeat that flawless performance and with a finish time of 45.14 seconds they secured a 3rd place in the ranking.

Kent Farrington: ““I’ve brought him up slow. He’s an incredible jumper. His rideability was a bit difficult; that set some speed limits on me still for the jump-off but he’s learning to go a bit quicker. It was a tremendous performance for him, and this was his first night class here in the big ring. I thought he jumped incredible, so I think he has a bright future ahead of him.”

During the final day on Sunday there was also a podium place for the Belgian lady rider Zoe Conter with the 11-year-old gelding Dawa de Greenbay Z (Diarado x Schilling – B: Stephane Chantot). During the 1.50m main class, Conter and Dawa de Greenbay Z were one of the 16 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off and they also achieved a 3rd place.

Another combination that managed to jump into the spotlights in Wellington in recent days was the Irish rider Conor Swail with the 10-year-old grey mare Calcite EB Z (Cornet Obolensky x Berlin – B: LVP Stables). Swail and Calcite EB Z immediately appeared at the start twice on Wednesday during the opening day and jumped to a 2nd place during a 1.40m class and to a 9th place during a 1.45m class. On Friday they confirm this good form with a 4th place in another 1.45m class.

During that 1.45m class on Wednesday, 4th place went to the American lady rider Lillie Keenan with her 12-year-old stallion Agana van het Gerendal Z, a son of our chestnut stallion Aganix du Seigneur Z and Topas, who was bred by the Verhey family.

Finally, on Thursday there was also a 4th place for the Swedish lady rider Petronella Andersson with the 12-year-old gelding Castres van de Begijnakker Z (Coriano Z x Palestro van de Begijnakker D'02 – B: Ann Keisse). During the 1.55m main class they were one of the 16 combinations that qualified for the jump-off and again managed to ensure a clear round. Furthermore there was also a 7th place in this class for the British lady rider Jessica Mendoza with the 11-year-old gelding I-Cap CL Z (I'm Special de Muze x Air Jordan Z – F: Alexander Liefsoens). They also managed to keep all the poles in the cups in the jump-off.
