After Jumping International Megève, there was another important show on the program on French soil last weekend with the five-star show of Dinard. Next to the CSI5* competition, also a CSI3* competition took place in Dinard and during the CSI3* GP on Sunday morning, a podiumplace was reserved for the American lady rider Heather Caristo-Williams with the 12-year-old gelding Marciano MVF, a son of Stakkato and Libero H who was born at the home of breeder Stoeterij Landetta as Swing de Landetta Z. Caristo-Williams and Marciano MVF already started their show on Thursday with a 9th place in the 1.45m class and during the CSI3* GP they were one of the 5 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. They again managed to ensure a clear round and with a finish time of 45.30 seconds they secured a 2nd place in the ranking.

During the opening day on Thursday, Caristo-Williams managed to secure a victory with the 11-year-old stallion Celtic Hero BZ, a son of Calikot Hero and Caretano Z who was bred by Andrea Etter. During the 1.40m high speed class they rushed to the finish in 64.61 seconds, which put them more than a full second ahead of the competition.

The highlight of the week was of course the Rolex Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon, in which the French rider Kevin Staut jumped into the picture with the 10-year-old gelding Beau de Laubry Z, a son of Bisquet Balou van de Mispelaere and Nabab de Rêve who was bred by Haras De Laubry and with whom Staut also placed 9th in the 1.55m class on Friday. In a jump-off for which 15 combinations were able to qualify, they managed to stop the clock in 44.45 seconds and this was good for a 6th place in the ranking.

On Friday, the Swiss rider Martin Fuchs jumped to the victory with the 9-year-old gelding Viper Z, a son of Vigo d'Arsouilles and Grannus who was bred by Guido Sperveslage. During the 1.50m high speed class, Fuchs and Viper Z finished in 67.68 seconds, which put them almost a full second ahead of the competition.

Another striking combination in Dinard was the Belgian rider Gilles Thomas with the 11-year-old stallion Feromas Van Beek Z (Fantomas de Muze x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve – B: Guido Herrijgers), with whom he also finished 3rd a few weeks ago during the Longines Global Champions Tour of La Coruña. Both during the 1.45m class on Friday and during the 1.50m class on Saturday, Thomas and Feromas Van Beek Z kept all the poles in the cups and this resulted twice in a 3rd place.

Finally, during the 1.50m class on Saturday, there was also a 5th place for Thomas' compatriot Jérôme Guery with the 10-year-old stallion Quality Star Z (Quality Time TN x Cash – F: Niels De Bruijn). They also managed to ensure a flawless performance here.
