After Equita Lyon, the show of Fieracavalli Verona in Italy was last weekend the setting for the 4th World Cup leg of the season. Unfortunately, no blue/yellow leading role during the World Cup this time, but during many other classes the Zangersheide horses made themselves heard.

During the 1.55m class on Saturday, for example, a victory was reserved for the French rider Julien Epaillard with the 12-year-old black mare Cancun Torel Z, a daughter of Cosinhus and Grannus who was bred in France by Francois Xavier Guyard. Epaillard and Cancun Torel Z already remained clear in the first round and were therefore among the 11 best combinations that managed to qualify for the Winning Roud. They had the luxury of being the very last combination to appear at the start again and with a clear round in 36.78 seconds they managed to beat the competition.

During this 1.55m class, the American lady rider Paris Sellon was also placed with her 11-year-old top mare Attoucha Hero Z, a daughter of Aganix du Seigneur Z and Diamant de Semilly, who bred by Luc Henry and Gerry Marron. In the decisive round they received 4 penalties, which was good for an 8th place in the rankings.

Yesterday on the final day, it was the Swiss rider Martin Fuchs who secured a blue/yellow victory with his 9-year-old chestnut stallion Viper Z, a son of Vigo d'Arsouilles and Grannus who was bred in Germany by Guido Sperveslage. During the 1.45m high Accumulator class, Fuchs and Viper Z finished their round with a maximum score of 65 points and with a time of 42.59 seconds they were slightly faster than the competition.

Another combination that managed to jump into the picture in recent days was former Belgian Champion Nicola Philippaerts with the 9-year-old mare Klaartje Z (Kannan x Flipper d'Elle - B: Ties Raijmakers). Philippaerts and Klaartje Z started their show on Friday with a 4th place during the 1.50m high speed class and during the 1.45m class on Sunday they secured a 3rd place in the rankings.

Finally, we also saw 2 Zangersheide horses on the podium during the 1.55m class on Friday. For example, 2nd place went to the German rider Daniel Deusser with his 15-year-old chestnut stallion Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Mr. Blue – B: Jonas Bellemans) and 3rd place went to the Swedish rider Peder Fredricson with 9-year-old chestnut stallion Vroom de la Pomme Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Untouchable – F: Geert Baertsoen). Both managed to ensure a clear round in both the basic round and the jump-off.
