More than 2 months after his unfortunate fall during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City, Christian Ahlmann is completely back at the highest level! Last weekend, Ahlmann appeared at the start during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Paris and had a fantastic weekend with 2 resounding victories!

The highlight of the weekend was of course his victory in the LGCT Grand Prix on Saturday night. He won this GP with the 11-year-old chestnut gelding Mandato van de Neerheide (Emerald van 't Ruytershof x Pommeau du Heup). In a jump-off for which 7 of the 36 combinations were able to qualify, he managed to beat the competition with a clear round in 38.09 seconds.

But also during the final day on Sunday, Ahlmann was again in great shape and managed to add a victory to his list of honors. During the 1.55m high Saint Laurent Eiffel Challenge he became the winner with our 9-year-old chestnut stallion Otterongo Alpha Z, a son of Darco and Hedjaz who was bred by Jozef Poets. Ahlmann and Otterongo Alpha Z were one of the 8 combinations that remained clear in the basic round and so qualified for the jump-off. They again remained clear in that jump-off and with a finish time of 34.79 seconds they were more than half a second ahead of the competition.

Next to the victory of Ahlmann and Mandato van de Neerheide, however, there was even more Zangersheide success during the LGCT Grand Prix on Saturday. The French rider Roger Yves Bost took the 2nd place with the 13-year-old grey stallion Cassius Clay VDV Z, a son of Calvino Z and Wolfgang who was bred by George Van De Velden and with whom Bost won the CSI4* GP of Fontainebleau in April. Bost and Cassius Clay VDV Z appeared at the start as the first combination and managed to stop the clock in a time of 38.53 seconds.

Furthermore, during this LGCT Grand Prix there was also a 9th place for Belgian Champion Nicola Philippaerts with his 11-year-old mare H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z (Levisto Z x For Pleasure – B: Stal 't Ruytershof Bvba). Philippaerts and H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof ran into 4 penalty points in the basic round, but due to a fast finish time they still managed to get a top 10 ranking. It was also already the second top ranking of the weekend for the duo, because during the second and decisive round of the Global Champions League on Friday they jumped already to a 4th place in the individual ranking.

Finally, also the French rider Julien Anquetin jumped into the picture in Paris with the 10-year-old grey gelding Z Ice Cube Z (Zacharov TN x Casco – F: P.J. Amendt). During the second round of the Global Champions League, they secured a 2nd place in the individual ranking.
