Limburg... one of the most beautiful regions in Europe. Known for its beautiful nature, warm-hearted inhabitants and charming cities and towns like Hasselt, the 'Capital of Taste'. In the horse world, Limburg is known worldwide for its top show jumpers, riders and sports stables. Limburg is a real hotspot in the horse world, just think of Studfarm Zangersheide in Lanaken and the stables of Team Philippaerts, Jos Lansink, Ashford Farm, Karel Cox Horses and many others! Limburg is also home to fantastic training and competition venues, the main one being Sentower Park, as well as the nec plus ultra of horse clinics such as EquiTom in Lummen.
A horse region like Limburg also deserves the finest international events and that is what Studfarm Zangersheide and Sentower Park will jointly provide from 2023 onwards. 'The Zangersheide International' will be a completely new international CSI4* where sport and breeding go hand in hand. "Not only will 'The Zangersheide International' be a frenzied 4* competition where we will welcome the best riders in the world, also the breeding for which this region is very well known will be extensively featured. Studbook Zangersheide's spring stallion selection will move to Sentower Park and will be complemented by a very exclusive stallion auction where the very best young stallions will be offered!" said Judy Ann Melchior "All that will also be complemented by special tests for young stallions as well as a heat of the famous 'Sires of the World'. At the beginning of the breeding season a real must for every breeder."

Program
From 15 to 19 February, Sentower Park will be coloured in the colours of Zangersheide for the finest sport, the highest quality breeding event in Europe and absolute conviviality!
We kick off on 15 February with 2 tests of our CSI1* and the opening test of the CSI4*. On Thursday 16 February all riders will start again and we will have our first Longines Ranking class at 1m50 level followed by the stallion presentation of the stallions of Studfarm Zangersheide!
On Friday 17 February we experience a real breeding day. More than 100 candidate stallions will jump at liberty for the first time with the aim of falling into the favour of our stallion jury and securing an approval and auction selection. Breeders and enthusiasts can dream and enjoy stallions all day as stallion classes for 5-,6- and 7-year-old stallions are also scheduled in the evening followed by the prestigious 'Sires of the World'!
On Saturday 18 February, a select group of young stallions will jump at liberty for the second time and the jury will decide on their approval as breeding stallions. In the main arena, we will build up to a climax in sport throughout the day. We start with the CSI1* and build up towards the Longines Ranking class at 1m50. After the sport, one of the highlights of The Zangersheide International is on the programme, our long-awaited 'Stallion Auction'!
Sunday 19 February is 'Grand Prix' day! First the best riders of the CSI1* jump their final class, then in the early afternoon we get the closing piece of the competition, the CSI4* GP at 1m55 level with a prize pool of no less than €100,000!

Our partner ClipMyHorse.TV will provide worldwide livestreaming of our event and will broadcast all classes including the Stallion Approval, the Zangersheide Stallion Presentation and the Stallion Auction live on its channel. What do you pay for a VIP package?
For a VIP table at the VIP Terrace for 6 people, €4,500 excl. VAT is charged. A table for 6 in our 'International Lounge' is €6,500 excl. VAT.
What do you get in return?

- 6 VIP tickets per day for access to the event and the VIP terrace/International Lounge

Hengstenkeuring
Studbook Zangersheide's spring selection is traditionally one of the busiest and most visited stallion selections of the year. Just before the 2023 breeding season starts, our international jury consisting of Eric Levallois, Heinz Meyer and Luc Tilleman selects the new stallions from more than 100 candidates. The selection is particularly rigorous and thorough. Beforehand, the stallions undergo a clinical and radiographic examination by our veterinarians, after which our jury examines their model, their hand movements on hard ground and, of course, their free-jumping.
The stallion inspection is open to stallions born in 2019 and 2020 and registered with a recognised sport horse studbook (member of the WBFSH).
Stallion Auction
For the first time, Studbook Zangersheide will combine its stallion approval with a live/online auction for young stallions. Under the direction of our auctioneer Frederik De Backer, the best stallions of the stallion selection will be auctioned on the evening of Saturday 18 February. It promises to be a sparkling evening in which you can invest in the very best young horses available!
On Thursday 16 February, the candidate stallions will be presented for the first time and judged by hand on the hard ground. A first selection in free jumping follows on Friday 17 February and on Saturday 18 February a select group may show their jumping talent to the judges for the second time. On Saturday afternoon, the verdict of the jury will be given and it will be decided which stallions will receive their licence and will be allowed to carry the title 'breeding stallion' from then on.
