Lauren Adams settles in 1st and 3rd place of the first qualifier for six-year-olds

The six-year-old horses also had their first qualifying round of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses on the programme on Thursday. As usual, the Ramiro Z-Arena provided the setting for this first test, where once again a host of talented young show jumpers from home and abroad took to the arena. The riders were presented with a two-phase class, and there was certainly no shortage of excitement. The battle for the top places was fiercely contested.
No fewer than 246 rider-horse pairs took their chance today from 08.15 on a course set at a height of 1.35m. The standard was exceptionally high, with no fewer than 126 rider-horse pairs successfully completing both the first and second phases. Irish rider Lauren Adams emerged as the strongest performer, securing not only the victory but also third place. She claimed the victory on the KWPN gelding Playboy ASJ, a son of Hardrock Z and Durango VDL, bred by S. Wolters. Adams and Playboy ASJ finished the second phase in 24.51 seconds, recording the fastest time of the day.
The second place went to the Belgian rider Mathieu Bourdeaud’Hui, who currently remains at the top of the Belgian Senior Championships. Bourdeaud’Hui rode the BWP gelding Uno van den Dalenberg, a son of former Belgian Champion Ermitage Kalone and Echo van ’t Neerenbosch, bred by Erik Swijns. They too completed two clear rounds and clocked a finishing time of 24.64 seconds in the second phase.
In addition to her victory, Lauren Adams also secured third place with the mare BP le Tara, a daughter of Dominator 2000 Z and Chaman, who was given the birth name Domina Van Rechteren Z by her breeder, Rob Vrolijken. Adams and BP de Tara finished the second phase in 24.74 seconds, thereby also securing a podium place.
The top five was rounded off by British rider William Rekert on the gelding Corinio Z (Columbus Z x Stakkato Gold – breeder: Mario Everse) and Irish rider Emily Moloney on the mare Ukina ( Connor x Nonstop – breeder: Julien Jacobs).
