5* Grand Prix Stallion Akarad Hero Z to Zangersheide

Studfarm Zangersheide proudly announces its third addition for the 2026 season: the exceptional 5* 1.60m Grand Prix stallion Akarad Hero Z, will be joining his illustrious sire Aganix du Seigneur Z in Lanaken.

Akarad Hero Z has time and again proven his immense scope and power at the highest level under the saddle of Pieter Clemens. He made an impressive 1.60m debut with a brilliant fourth-place in the CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix of Brussels Masters in 2021, and as a trusted member of the Belgian team he contributed to Belgium’s second place in the Nations Cup of Rome in 2022, and delivered a brilliant clear in the Nations Cup of Hickstead.

His pedigree unites two of the most influential producers in modern showjumping: Aganix du Seigneur Z and the exceptional China Touch Hero Z – who, in addition to Akarad, have produced several approved stallions, including Zangersheide’s Devil 2000 Z, Don’t Touch Tiji Hero Z, the sire of Dourkhan Hero Z, and international performers such as Diamond Touch, Esprit de La Roque, Jaguar de Tiji and King of China Hero.

Despite limited availability during his sport career, the figures from Akarad’s first crops are strikingly impressive. From just twenty-five foals in his first two crops, fifteen compete internationally, with eleven already performing at 1.45m–1.55m level. Notable stars include Luka-Cara shining at 5* 1.55m with Michael Greve, Kinmar Scarlett Z under Janika Sprunger, Lumiere BH partnered with Mimi Gochman, and Bertram Allen’s promising Akarad Tivoli Z.

Much like his celebrated sire, Akarad Hero Z passes on a commanding presence, ground-covering canter, explosive power, and exceptional scope. Breeders have trusted their best mares to him, and been rewarded with sporty, and eye-catching foals, with superb movement and athleticism.

Breeding conditions

Akarad Hero Z will be available at a fee of €1,400. Breeders who inseminate their mare this year with the semen of this new acquisition will only be required to pay the full amount upon the birth of a living foal in 2027.
