Another Grand Prix success for Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z in Wellington

While we were able to enjoy an exciting show on European soil at the Sweden International Horse Show in Stockholm, there was also jumping at four-star level at the magnificent accommodation of Wellington International last weekend. In doing so, the stallion Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z once again managed to put himself in the spotlight by claiming a top ranking at the CSI4* Grand Prix this time too!

The CSI4* Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon formed the absolute highlight at Wellington International last weekend, with a total of thirty-nine combinations at the start. Seven of these thirty-nine combinations managed to stay cool in the basic round to qualify for the ultimate jump-off. One of those seven barragists was Irish rider Shane Sweetnam and the 9-year-old chestnut stallion Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z, a son of Comme Il Faut and Lord Z from the breeding farm of the van Rossem family of Mivaro BVBA. Sweetnam and Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z, who triumphed in the CSI3* Grand Prix in Wellington just a fortnight ago, managed to set the second fastest time in the jump-off in 42.46 seconds, but a mistake on the way ensured that it ended up not silver but bronze for the successful duo.

Moreover, in the days leading up to the Grand Prix, Sweetnam and Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z had already made their mark in Wellington. On Thursday, they finished ^3rd in the 1.40m class during the opening day, while on Saturday they secured ^6th place in the 1.50m class.

Furthermore, Canadian rider Gavin Moylan also managed to secure a top 5 ranking with the 10-year-old stallion Anton, a son of Arko III and Quintero ASK who was born Anton SBK Z at breeder Louis Bijloos. During the 1.45m class on Thursday, Moylan and Anton kept nicely clear in both the^1st and^2nd phases with a ^5th place as final result.
