Brazilia DK Z and T-Gavoli Z win twice at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour

While a lot of eyes were naturally on The Dutch Masters - Indoor Brabant in the Netherlands last weekend, there was also a lot of international action on Spanish soil the past few days. In Vejer de la Frontera, the 5th week of the Andalucia Sunshine Tour was under way and some Zangersheide horses performed particularly well again.
Thus it was a particularly successful weekend for Spanish rider Ismael Garcia Roque and the 9-year-old chestnut gelding Brazilia DK Z, a son of By Ceira d'Ick and Argentinus bred in France by EARL Haras d'Ick, with whom Garcia Roque already showed his nose to the window last week with two 6th places. Last weekend Garcia Roque and Brazilia DK Z raised their level even further and on both Friday and Sunday they managed to secure a resounding victory. On Friday, they were already winners of the CSI4* Medium Tour 1.45m, but the highlight of the weekend was their victory in the CSI4* Medium Tour Grand Prix over a height of 1.50m. In a jump-off for which 8 combinations managed to qualify, Garcia Roque and Brazilia DK Z again kept it neatly clear and with a finishing time of 39.22 seconds they were just under a full second ahead of the competition.
However, Ismael Garcia Roque and Brazilia DK Z were not the only combination to secure two blue and yellow victories. Swedish rider Ebba Danielsson also jumped to victory twice with the 13-year-old mare T-Gavoli Z, a daughter of Twister de la Pomme and Calvaro Z bred in the Netherlands by G.J.A. Moerings. In both the CSI4* Medium Tour 1.40m on Friday and the CSI4* Medium Tour 1.40m on Sunday, Danielsson and T-Gavoli Z managed to outclass the competition with a double clear round.
The opening day on Thursday also saw another victory for Swedish rider Sofia Westborg and the 12-year-old mare Alencia Von Hary Z, a breeding product of Heinz Mertens who combined the blood of Action-Breaker with that of Ernest. Westborg and Alencia Von Hary Z triumphed during the CSI4* Medium Tour over a height of 1.45m, where a clear round in 59.45 seconds gave them a slight edge over the competition. Moreover, on Saturday Westborg also managed to secure a podium place with the 10-year-old chestnut gelding Calvin FP Z (Calvados Z x Libero H - B: Forsten-Penti Stables). During the CSI4* Medium Tour 1.40m they kept all the bars neatly in the reels and this performance earned them 3rd place in the standings.
