With the World Cup competition at Jumping Bordeaux last weekend, they had already reached the 13th round of the season. Belgian rider Pieter Devos therefore travelled to the south of France, where he brought the 9-year-old mare Casual DV Z to the start. Casual DV Z is an own breeding product of the Devos family and is a daughter of Cornet Obolensky out of the Cicero Z mare Just Me D, who herself jumped at 1.60m level with Devos.

After Devos and Casual DV Z already showed some strong performances in the past few weeks with a 4th place at Jumping Mechelen and a 3rd place in Basel, they appeared at the start of a World Cup round for the first time on Saturday evening. And their 1.60m debut was an immediate hit, as Devos and Casual DV Z were one of the six combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. In the jump-off, they repeated their flawless performance in the first round and took 4th place in the ranking.

Yesterday in the French wine-growing region it was time to look forward to the CSI5* Grand Prix and here too Pieter Devos managed to secure a strong result. This time he counted on the 10-year-old Cicero Z-daughter Jarina J out of the stud farm of H.C.B.M. Janssen and again he managed to secure a place in the jump-off. Devos continued his momentum from Saturday evening, as he also managed to finish 4th with Jarina J in the end.

5th place during this CSI5* GP was again reserved for Devos' compatriot Nicola Philippaerts with the 12-year-old chestnut mare Luna Van 't Ruytershof Z, the daughter of Levisto Z and For Pleasure who was bred by the Vandenbranden family and with whom Philippaerts won the Belgian Seniors Championship in Lanaken in 2022. Philippaerts and Luna Van 't Ruytershof Z ran into 4 penalties in the first round, but a fast finishing time meant they still managed a top 5 ranking in the end.

Finally, French rider Kevin Staut also made himself noticed with the 8-year-old chestnut stallion Vida Loca Z, a son of Vigo d'Arsouilles and Cornet Obolensky bred by Soc. Agricola A R.l. Edeldame. Staut and Vida Loca Z immediately started their competition excellently on Friday with a 5th place during the 1.40m class and a day later they managed to jump to a 6th place during the 1.45m class.
