Diacornia Z and Antagio Z win at German Zangersheide Foal Championship 2025

For the second year in a row, Hof Brüning in Bruchhausen-Vilsen was the scene of the German Zangersheide Foal Championships last weekend. The rustic setting and sunny weather once again provided the ideal setting for a successful edition, where a carefully selected field of participants was presented to our expert jury. They judged the foals on the well-known five criteria: correctness, movement, type, overall impression and dam line.
Filly foals
At 10.30am, it was again the fillies that were expected to be first in the ring. Victory in this series went to Diacornia Z, an appealing daughter of Diaron Old and Cornet Obolensky, bred by Svenja Ketz. Dam H-Paula is a half-sister of Malin 21 (Mylord Carthago) and Quel Homme 7 (Quidam de Rêvel), who both competed at 1.50m level with Polish rider Katarzyna Szun and Czech rider Philipp Züger, respectively.
Aquina Blue Z, a breeding product of Richard Ramsel, took second place. She is a daughter of Ansingh de Lis Z in combinations with Los Angeles, confirming the success of Ansingh de Lis Z's blood. Last week in Exloo, a daughter of this stallion - Avanti Marienshof Z - also managed to win the filly class at the Dutch championships.
Third place went to Cardolan V/D Mittelerde Z, a daughter of Cardento VDL out of a mare by Untouchable, born to Gebhard Jansen of ZV Mittelerde. Her granddam is none other than Dame de la Pomme (Vigo d'Arsouilles), the full sister of Grand Prix stallion Vagabond de la Pomme, making this dam line particularly valuable.
Colts
After the fillies, it was the turn of the colts to show their qualities to our judges, and in this series, too, the blood of our Zangersheide blood made its presence felt. Thus the victory went to Antagio Z, a son of Allroad 2000 Z and Comme Il Faut, who was bred by Josef Waning. Antagio Z stood out for his athletic model, expressive type and natural presence.
Silver went to the foal Crystal Ocean Z, an offspring of Chacco-White and Eldorado van de Zeshoek born at Hof Brüning. Granddam Fortuna (For Pleasure) is also the dam of the grey stallion Clievero (Clinton), who made his mark at 1.60m level under Romanian rider Luca Ruxandariu.
Finally, third place was reserved for the colt Tabasco DH Z, a son of Toèmme de Regor Z and Copycat Z from the breeding farm of Dennis Haubrok. Tabasco DH Z convinced the judges with his modern appearance and correct conformation.
