A few weeks after their resounding victory in the CSI5* Grand Prix of Hamburg, Christian Ahlmann and our stallion Dourkhan Hero Z impressed again last weekend! The duo appeared at the start of the Longines Global Champions Tour in Paris this time and confirmed all that good with two strong performances: in both the Global Champions League and the prestigious LGCT Grand Prix, they once again showed that they are in top condition.
Christian Ahlmann and the 10-year-old Dourkhan Hero Z, the son of Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji Hero and Zandor Z who was bred by Luc Henry, immediately made their mark in the French capital on Friday. In the second round of the Global Champions League over a height of 1.60m, they kept the bars neatly in the scoops, placing themselves in a creditable eighth place in the individual standings.
On Saturday evening, the French city of lights was then all about the prestigious LGCT Grand Prix, where the duo was once again among the best. After a convincing basic round, Ahlmann and Dourkhan Hero Z managed to qualify for the jump-off. There they rode a strong final round that eventually earned them a creditable 7th place in a particularly competitive field.

Also in the LGCT Grand Prix, US rider Nathalie Dean secured a great result with 13-year-old grey gelding Crescendo MB Z, a son of Clinton and Jodokus bred in the Netherlands by M. Bokdam. Dean and Crescendo MB Z were also among the combinations that managed to advance to the jump-off, where they secured a 6th place in the final ranking.
Before the start of the LGCT Grand Prix on Saturday, the CSI5* competition also had a 1.45m class on the programme, in which French rider Roger-Yves Bost jumped to a top 5 ranking with the now 15-year-old grey stallion Cassius Clay VDV Z, a son of Calvino Z and Wolfgang from the breeding farm of Georges Van Der Velden. In both the1st and2nd phases, Bost and Cassius Clay VDV Z did not show any faults, eventually securing 5th place. Bost's compatriot Jeanne Sadran was still good for 9th place in this class with the 9-year-old stallion Cris-Cross Z, a son of Crown Z and Corofino I bred by Malcolm Holder. They too managed to stay neatly clear in both phases.
Finally, French rider Cédric Hurel also once again managed to secure a top ranking with his 15-year-old gelding Fantasio Floreval Z, a son of Bazooka de Hus (ex Florian de la Vie) and Clinton bred by Evelyne Pater. Hurel and Fantasio Floreval Z, good for 3rd place at the CSI4* Grand Prix of Mâcon Chaintré last month, secured individual 3rd place at the second round of the Global Champions League after ensuring a neat clear round.
