One rider, two stallions and four wins - those are the impressive figures with which Christian Ahlmann returned home from the four-star competition in Münster last weekend. With both Querido VG Z and Otterongo Alpha Z, he was elusive for the competition and signed for a unique double, turning the Turnier der Sieger into a true dream weekend for our blue and yellow colours.
Just a week ago, Christian Ahlmann and our 9-year-old stallion Querido VG Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Chellano Z - Breeder: Aloïs Van Gorp) already made their mark with a 3rd place at the four-star event at Kronenberg's Peelbergen Equestrian Centre. This weekend, they confirmed that strong form in Münster and even shifted up a gear. On Friday, the duo immediately produced a banging performance by winning the 1.45m class. In a class against the clock, they convincingly sped to the finish in 65.60 seconds, good for almost two full seconds ahead of the competition. The absolute highlight followed on Saturday afternoon, however, when they again proved unbeatable in the 1.55m main class. Ahlmann and Querido VG Z stayed clear in the first round, making them one of the 11 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. There they managed to repeat that flawless performance and with a finishing time of 41.46 seconds they were four hundredths of a second faster than their closest pursuer.

Christian Ahlmann also had a fantastic weekend in Münster with 11-year-old Otterongo Alpha Z, where the chestnut stallion ensured two resounding victories. The first came on Friday evening in the 1.50m main class. In this fast class against the clock, Ahlmann and Otterongo Alpha Z sped to the finish in 67.89 seconds, good for a comfortable lead of over a full second over the competition. But on Saturday too, the duo proved to be unbeatable. In a jump-off for which six out of forty-seven combinations managed to qualify, they again failed to make a mistake and with a time of 35.35 seconds Ahlmann recorded his fourth victory of the weekend.

Furthermore, in Münster, Christian Ahlmann also brought our 11-year-old stallion D'Aganix 2000 Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Aganix du Seigneur Z - Breeder: Tony Foriers) to the start again and this too yielded success. At the CSI4* Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon, Ahlmann and D'Aganix 2000 Z were among the best 11 combinations to qualify for the second round, in which they finally secured 9th place.
Before the start of the Grand Prix, a 1.50m class was also on the programme for the four-star competition on Sunday, and in it Swiss rider Barbara Schnieper ensured a podium place with the 10-year-old stallion Coco G Z (Cornet Obolensky x Contendro I - Breeder: W. Van Gestel), with whom she was also good for 7th place in the 1.40m class on Friday. In both the1st and2nd phases, they kept all the rails neatly in the reels, with a great2nd place as final result.
In the 1.55m main class on Saturday, in addition to Christian Ahlmann and Querido VG Z's victory, 5th place was also reserved for the young Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe Neto de Azevedo with the 12-year-old gelding Pandora Boy Z (Presley Boy x Latano I - Breeder: Luc Heye). They too managed to go clear again in the jump-off, but needed 46.36 seconds to complete their jump-off.
A day earlier, German rider Harm Lahde was also 5th with the 12-year-old grey gelding Echo van Spalbeek Z (Elvis Ter Putte x Cornet's Stern - Breeder: Frans Liefsoens). They achieved this 5th place during the 1.50m speed class, ensuring a flawless round.
Last but not least, Lahde's compatriot Sönke Fallenberg also managed to jump into the picture with the 9-year-old chestnut stallion Zanzibar vd Horst Z (VDL Zirocco Blue N.O.P. x Utrillo Z - Breeder: Bert Smeets). During the 1.45m class on Friday, they crossed the finish line in 70.54 seconds, which earned them 3rd place in the standings.
