Besides the various competitions outside our national borders, there was also an international competition on the programme on Belgian ground last week at Opglabbeek's Sentower Park. Here, too, there was blue/yellow success during the CSI2* GP with a podium place for Belgian Champion Gilles Thomas and his 12-year-old stallion Feromas Van Beek Z, a son of Fantomas de Muze and Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve from the breeding farm of Guido Herrijgers. Thomas and Feromas Van Beek Z stayed clear in the basic round, making them one of 15 combinations to qualify for the jump-off. As one of the last combinations to re-enter the ring, the duo once again managed to stay clear and with a finishing time of 37.15 seconds, they eventually secured 2nd place in the standings.

Furthermore, Danish rider Martin Dinesen Neergaard and the 10-year-old stallion Carpe Diem van de Geenheide Z (Connor x Cassini I - B: André Lavigne) also managed to jump to a place in the top 10 of the standings during this CSI2* GP. They also managed to stay clear in the jump-off, which in turn was good for 7th place in the standings.

Earlier on Sunday, Belgian rider Wilm Vermeir was also victorious with the 9-year-old chestnut mare Eytuka Of Two Notes Z, a breeding product of Toby Huys who combined the blood of Emerald van 't Ruytershof with that of Chin Chin. In the 1.40m morning class, Vermeir and Eytuka Of Two Notes Z kept it clear during both the 1st and 2nd phases and in doing so were narrowly faster than the competition. For Vermeir's compatriot Michaël Vreys there was another 5th place in this class with 9-year-old mare Chica Bomb Van Plockroy Z (Comment vh Lindehof x Ogano Sitte - B: Vreys Horses BVBA), with whom he also finished 2nd in the 1.30m class on Thursday during the opening day.

On Saturday evening, the day ended with a 1.45m class and here we also saw a Zangersheide horse at the top of the standings. The victory went to Dutch rider Sanne Thijssen with her 12-year-old mare Tippy Z, a daughter of Tyson and Jetset-D bred in the Netherlands by E. Ickenroth and T.H. Emans. In a 17-strong jump-off, she neatly kept all the pooles in the scoops and with a finishing time of 28.79 seconds, she was almost 3 full seconds ahead of the competition.

Finally, in the 1.45m Longines Ranking Test on Friday, there was then another top 5 placing for Thijssen's compatriot Piet Raijmakers Jr. with the 12-year-old mare Van Schijndel's Olaya Z (Ogano Sitte x Concorde - B: F. Van Och). In a jump-off for which 9 combinations managed to qualify, they sped to the finish in 35.25 seconds and that performance was good for 4th place in the standings.
