Mathieu Bourdeaud’Hui takes the lead in Belgian Championship

Mathieu Bourdeaud’Hui and his 12-year-old stallion Oscar de Homage (by Quint vh Maarlo Z) have taken the lead in the first round of the Belgian Showjumping Championship. On Wednesday the championship kicked off in Lanaken with the traditional speed class (Table C), and Bourdeaud’Hui recorded the fastes round.
Gilles Thomas and Riesling van ’t Roosakker (by Comme Il Faut), who won silver last year, are currently in second place. Robin Van Thillo and My Jewel’s Magic Touch (by Stakkato) are provisionally third, just ahead of vice world champion Thibeau Spits and Rozelien DH (by Nixon van t Meulenhof). Pieter Devos and Rainbow van ’t Zorgvliet (by Cornet Obolensky), who won bronze in last year’s Belgian Championships, is in seventh place after the first round.
The second round will be jumped on Thursday and the final, featuring the top 16 combinations, will take place on Saturday.
