Exactly 3 weeks after their victory during the CSI2* GP of Brussels, the American lady rider Maria Costa and her 14-year-old gelding Valentino V Z won another Grand Prix last weekend! Costa and Valentino V Z, a son of Verdi TN and Converter who was bred by Antoine and Stefaan Vermeire, appeared at the start during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Rome and once again became the winners of the CSI2* GP. The duo started their show on the opening day on Friday with a 4th place during the 1.40m class and were one of the 8 combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off during the CSI2* GP. They had the luxury of starting again as the very last combination and with a clear round in 37.63 seconds she once again outclassed the competition!

Another combination that made itself heard in Rome during the CSI2* competition was the Italian rider Filippo Lupis with the 10-year-old stallion Contito EB Z (Canturano x Candillo Z – B: Beauty BVBA). They managed to jump to a 10th place during the 1.40m class on Friday and a day later they finished 5th in the rankings in another 1.40m class. During that 1.40m class on Saturday, there was also a 7th place for Lupis' compatriot Angelica Canonici with the also 10-year-old gelding Vertigo Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Kannan - B: Tops Horse Trading BV).
