Marie-Therese Römer was born in Germany but has been living in the Netherlands since 2016. She runs her own yard in the Netherlands, Sunrise Sporthorses, with 3 sporthorses, an old mare and a mare with a foal. "I work for an American software company. Horses really are my true passion; at the end of the afternoon you will always find me at the yard and I go to shows on the weekend." Filly Calla Z (by Colorit Z) was born on March 4th, Marie-Therese's first ever breeding product.

Calla Z's mother is Georgina (Canturano x Indorado), a 12-year-old horse that has been owned by Marie-Therese for 5 years now. "Georgina is such a sweet mare, she has loads of energy, a big heart and the power to jump. She can move well and is very healthy. But she is lacking in rideability at the moment and therefore she is taking some time out. She really does have everything a good jumper needs, but sometimes her energy gets in the way of that."

Marie-Therese opted for Colorit Z for her first foal. "It was clear to me that I would choose a Zangersheide stallion. For me, Zangersheide represents healthy horses with lots of quality. For my mare it was important to choose a stallion that will not transfer too much blood. I watched the stallion show on YouTube and that was very helpful to me to be able to make a choice. I also believe it to be important to see how the stallion transfers his qualities onto his offspring and, by looking at ones from 15 years ago, this is very well demonstrated. Of course, Colorit Z has had many successes in his career. I do hope especially that Calla Z will inherit his rideability."

Calla Z was born on March 4th, "5 days after the due date. Georgina did everything on her own during the birth. When Calla Z was only 3 hours old, she was already bucking around in her stable and she was already very curious and excited from the start. She has a gorgeous and compact body. Her eyes are very special, light grey, almost blue. Calla Z became balanced quite quickly, both in the field as well as during bucking and cantering. She has lots of energy but she is also very sweet. She also has a very curious nature, she always likes to see new things and she is not afraid of anything."

Marie-Therese already has plans for Calla Z. "At this point I don't intend to sell her. I would very much like to present her at the foal show though."
