Untouched LB Z shines in the LGCT Grand Prix in Paris

As well as the CHIO Rotterdam and the accompanying third leg of the Longines League of Nations, there was also plenty of international action to enjoy last weekend in the Longines Global Champions Tour. For the eighth leg of the season, the tour made its way to the French capital, Paris. Christian Ahlmann was also in attendance in the City of Light and once again secured a fine result with our stallion Untouched LB Z.

Held at the foot of the iconic Eiffel Tower on Saturday evening, this LGCT Grand Prix was the absolute highlight of three days of top-class international sport in Paris. As is traditional, the forty best-placed rider-horse pairs from the qualifier were given the chance to compete in this prestigious class, for which course designer Grégory Bodo and his team had once again devised a tough challenge. In the end, only six pairs managed to complete the basic round clear of faults and thus qualify for the jump-off. Among them were Christian Ahlmann and our 10-year-old stallion Untouched LB Z, the son of European Champion United Touch S and Cornet Obolensky. Ahlmann, who had previously won in Paris in both 2019 and 2023, once again guided Untouched LB Z without any faults to the finish line; with a finishing time of 40.29 seconds, they ultimately finished just off the podium in ^4th place.

Alongside Untouched LB Z’s fine result, an offspring of HH Conrad Z also enjoyed success in this LGCT Grand Prix of Paris. This was down to home rider Megane Moissonnier and the 14-year-old stallion Crooner Tame, a son of HH Conrad Z and Quaprice Boimargot Quincy. Moissonnier and Crooner Tame also managed to keep all the bars in place in the first round, but a single time penalty ultimately kept them out of the jump-off and meant they had to settle for^7th place.

^Eighth place went to the Dutch rider Pim Mulder and the 13-year-old gelding Viktor Z, a son of Verdi TN and Caretano Z, bred by Freek Hoogenboom. Mulder and Viktor Z also left all the fences untouched in the first round, but left the arena with three penalty points for exceeding the time limit.
