Next to the five-star show in Basel, Switzerland, they also jumped for World Cup points at the Al Shira'aa Horse Show in Abu Dhabi last weekend. During the World Cup on Sunday afternoon, the Irish rider Billy Twomey secured a podium place with the 15-year-old chestnut stallion Chat Botte E.D, a son of Casall and Darco and who was born at the home of breeder Andre Vandepapeliere as Chat Botte du Ruisseau Z. Twomey and Chat Botte E.D were one of the eleven combinations that managed to qualify for a second and decisive round after a clear first round. In that second round they again managed to ensure a clear round and a finishing time of 43.60 seconds earned them a second place in the ranking.

During the 1.50m main class on Friday there was also a podium place for the Austrian rider Gerfried Puck with the 11-year-old mare Equitron Melody vd Smidshoeve, a daughter of our chestnut stallion Epleaser Z. In a jump-off for which eleven combinations were able to qualify, Puck and the breeding product of Hugo Stevens jumped to a third place in the ranking. In fifth place in this class we saw the Belgian lady rider Celine Schoonbroodt-de Azevedo with the 12-year-old grey gelding Clinto T Z (Clintissimo Z x Indoctro – B: Rudi Tans). Just like Puck and Equitron Melody vd Smidshoeve, they also managed to keep all the poles in the cups in the jump-off. Also on Friday, the Brazilian rider Luiz Felipe Cortizo Gonçalves De Azevedo Filho and the 9-year-old mare Sierra du Piedroux Z (Hunter's Scendix x Contefino 2 – F: Claude Noiret) finished eighth in a 1.40m class.

Young horses

Next to the CSI4* competition, there were also classes for young horses on the program in Abu Dhabi last weekend, in which several offspring of our chestnut stallion Aganix du Seigneur Z managed to jump into the spotlights. For example, the final class for the 6-year-old horses on Sunday was won by the Belgian rider Thierry Goffinet and the stallion Megamix N, a breeding product of D. Nanning who combines the blood of Aganix du Seigneur Z with that of VDL Groep Zagreb. With a clear jump-off in 38.91 seconds, they were more than a full second ahead of the competition. The fifth place in this class was for the Egyptian rider Mohamed Ashraf Abdallah with the gelding Ace Z, also an offspring of Aganix du Seigneur Z and this in combination with Andiamo Z. Ashraf Abdalla also managed a clear jump-off with the breeding product of M. Dekker.

Another striking combination among the 6-year-old horses was the Emirati rider Salim Ahmed Al Suwaidi with the mare Camille van Overis Z (Clicksem x Amadeus Z – B: Studfarm Overis). They won the class for the 6-year-old horses on Saturday and also finished second and seventh.

Second place on Friday went to his compatriot Abdullah Mohd Al Marri with the mare Casallcina Z (Casall x Chin Chin – B: Deckstation Pohlsee) and also Moftah Al Dhaheri with the stallion Cap Sur Floreval Z (Cicero Z x Calvaro Z – B: Evelyne Pater) and Ahmad Abdul Rahman Ameen with the stallion Arrogate Tdyr Z (Action Breaker x Farmer – B: Tdyr Stables) jumped to a top five ranking.
