Al Shira'aa rider Humaid Al Muhairi & Argentina de Kreisker Z triumph in second qualifier for seven-year-olds

The FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses saw the second qualifying day on the programme today for the 5-, 6- and 7-year-old show jumpers. After a windy and grey day yesterday, participants and spectators were treated to a sunny end of summer day . The sun and pleasant temperatures created an excellent atmosphere and once again attracted a lot of visitors to Domein Zangersheide, ready to admire top quality in show jumping.
In the Ratina Z Arena, the seven-year-old horses competed in the second qualification in which 193 combinations made their appearance in the ring. Like yesterday, the obstacles were at a height of 1.40m, but this time they jumped directly against the clock.
It ended up being a dream day for the Al Shira'aa Farms, a partner of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses, as it was their own team rider Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi who earned victory in this class that -remarkably enough - had the Al Shira'aa Tour as its title partner. Riding the Zangersheide mare Argentina de Kreisker Z (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Quick Star - Breeder: Elevage De Kreisker Scea), he set a lightning-fast clear round and finished in 64.64 seconds. This meant Khalifa Al Muhairi and Argentina de Kreisker Z were almost a full second faster than the rest of the field of competitors.
Argentina de Kreisker Z was purchased as an embryo by Al Shira'aa and the Zangersheide mare, who boasts a lot of blood by Aganix Du Seigneur Z, has a tremendous FEI record and is a real fighter in the ring. Rider Humaid Al Muhairi said after his victory: "I am delighted to win here at the World Breeding championships, Argentina deserves this win because she has an amazing winning attitude, she is incredibly fast and can shave seconds off everywhere. We as a team felt confident for today and I'm so happy for her owner Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Al Nahyan who has produced up to this level."
2nd place was claimed by French rider Eddy Seguin Maure and the Selle Français stallion Iniesta du Gery (Topinambour x Top Ten du Gery - Breeder: EARL Gauffreteau Denis Haras du Gery). This pair made an great effort to finish in the fastest time, but needed almost a second more (65.53 seconds) to complete their round successfully.
The French success was completed by Thibault Thevenon, who jumped to 3rd place with the Selle Français stallion ICI et la Courcelle (Cocktail de Talma x Kashmir van Schuttershof - Breeder: Yves Chauvin). They managed to put a time of 65.96 seconds on the scoreboard after a clear round.
In 4th place was young Belgian rider Niels van Rossem, who impressed the audience with a strong and consistent ride. Together with the BWP gelding Speedy van Klapscheut (Chaiton F Z x Peppermill - Breeder: BV Mivaro), he clocked 66.11 seconds, falling just short of a place among the top three.
The top five was completed by Irish rider Eoin Brennan. Accompanied by the Zangersheide gelding Augustus Z(Aganix du Seigneur Z x Vigo d'Arsouilles - breeder: Tim Brennan), he rode a clear round in 67.28 seconds.
