Genius auction topper in Zangersheide Online Foal Auction Part II

It was already a warm Tuesday evening, and the temperature raised further as son as the bidding started for Zangersheide Online Foal Auction Part II. With a strong, carefully selected collection, international interest had been building for days, and numerous clients worldwide tuned in for this virtual knockdown.

The evening’s top lot was the striking Just Genius di Cabra Z, a son of J-Nius V.V. Z and out of sister to Niels Bruynseel’s Olympic Gold Medalist Delux van T&L and Gilles Thomas’ GCL winner Qalista DN. The spotted colt became the centre of a fierce bidding battle between Sweden and the United Kingdom. In the end, a delighted British buyer secured Just Genius for €28,000, making him one of the most sought-after foals of the night.

The second-highest price of the evening went to Cedre van Mander Z, a filly by Chacco-Blue out of a sister to Dubai du Cedre. She changed hands for €26,000, joining the stable of a Belgian investor who also added Eclaire Z, Bond Junior Z, and Eckermann vh Ruytinxbos Z to their collection.

Another highlight was the Z-Festival Vice-Champion, Calvador Royale GHM FZ Z, who will travel to France after selling for €25,000. Also bound for France is the impressive Enfant d’Ermitage Z, a brother of Michel Robert’s Grand Prix winner Calasto Z, purchased by Ecurie du Herrin.

Poland once again showed its determination to invest in future sport horse talent. Stable AMW, who had already purchased two foals in Part I of the auction, returned for more. This time adding the elegant Esa Diva JT Z, by Ermitage Kalone from the damline of the Olympic Hardrock Z, as well as the alluring Hardrock Z daughter Hanante van’t Achterhof Z. Another loyal Polish buyer strengthened their stable with the impressive colts Erasmus PS Z and Dynamite Gold LEQ Z.

Tariffs or not, American buyers confirmed their dedication to sourcing European bloodlines. One enthusiastic client doubled up with the eye-catching filly Bianchi DCK Z, from the Hardrock Z family, and the handsome Emerald son Edison DM Z. Another U.S. buyer had the final bid on Haddaway A&S Z, ensuring that three exciting youngsters will soon be crossing the Atlantic.
