Jos Verlooy maintains the lead in second round BK Jumping

Triple Belgian champion Jos Verlooy held on to the lead in the Belgian Championships show jumping after the second day. With Killossery Konfusion (Siec Livello x Cruising), he topped the leaderboard yesterday and today he was the only one from the top five to once again stay clear. In doing so, he strengthened his leading position.

Jan Vermeiren moved up from place six to place two with Qmusic-K van 't Kattenheye (Le Blue Diamond x Cornet Obolensky), thanks to a clear round. In provisional third place is Sacha Beghuin with Elcup van Beek II Z (Elvis ter Putte x Armitage). The day did not go so well for Olivier Philippaerts: with Just Him (Toulon x Lancer II) he had a fault on the last obstacle, dropping from second to tenth place in the standings. Defending champion Gilles Thomas did set a clear round with Qiara de Kalvarie (Don't Touch Tiji Hero x Zandor Z) and moves up to fifth place, just behind Frederic Vernaet with Paulus-L (Corydon by T&L x Toulon).

The championship has its finale on Saturday. Tomorrow the horses will have a rest day, followed by the final for the top 16 on Saturday. It promises to be wildly exciting: the first nine combinations are less than one jumping fault away from leader Verlooy.
