ANDALUCIA SUNSHINE TOUR

On the Andalucia Sunshine Tour of Vejer de la Frontera, week 7 was reached last week and also this week the Zangersheide horses managed to provide a lot of great performances. After their victory the week before, there were again 2 victories this week for the Spanish rider Kevin Gonzalez de Zarate Fernandez with the 12-year-old mare Kilimanjaro van Overis Z, a daughter of Kashmir van Schuttershof and Amoroso van de Helle who was bred by Gerald Lenaerts and Sigrid Gielen. Gonzalez de Zarate Fernandez and Kilimanjaro van Overis Z appeared twice at the start and managed to write a 1.45m class on both Thursday and Saturday on their list of honors.

Another victory last weekend was secured by the Belgian rider Cyril Cools with the 14-year-old grey mare Seahorse Z (Hunter's Scendix x Chellanno Z – B: NV Chatho). Cools and Seahorse Z already jumped to a 2nd place the week before and became the winners of the 1.35m class on Saturday this week. But Cools managed to ensure several successes, because during the 1.35m class on Friday he also became 2nd with the 8-year-old mare Coryfee T&L Z (Corydon Van T&L x Bentley vd Heffinck – B: NV T&L) and during the 1.40m class 4th with the 11-year-old stallion Dalet GP Z (Diamant de Semilly x Cartagene – B: Martina Romangnoli).

We also saw several Z-horses who managed to jump to a place on the podium twice last weekend. One of those combinations was the Portuguese rider Antonio Matos Almeida with the 14-year-old grey stallion Chippo Z (Chippendale Z x Faust Z – B: Jan Aegten). The duo came out strong and became 2nd in a 1.40m class on both Thursday and Friday.

But also the Irish rider Ciaran Nallon took a second place twice with the 12-year-old stallion Crooner d'Hyrencourt Z (Crown Z x Ogano Sitte – B: André Henry). They managed to achieve those podium places during the 1.35m classes on Friday and Saturday.

And also the Dutch rider Kevin Jochems reached the podium twice with the 8-year-old mare Looks Good de Liebri Z (Lector vd Bisschop x Bentley vd Heffinck – B: De Liebri BVBA). They jumped to a 3rd place both on Friday and Saturday, both during a 1.35m class.

Finally, a few Z-horses managed to jump into the spotlight during the various 1.45m classes. For example, on Sunday there was a 4th place for the Dutch lady rider Sanne Thijssen with the 10-year-old mare Cupcake Z (Chacco Blue x Caretano Z – B: Sandra van den Broek-Wilmes) and a 5th place for the Swedish lady rider Ebba Danielsson with the 12-year-old mare T-Gavoli Z (Twister de la Pomme x Calvaro Z – B: G.J.A. Moerings), on Saturday a 6th place for the Spanish rider Santiago Nunez Riva with the 13-year-old stallion Valentino de Hus Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Trophee du Rozel – B: Haras de Hus) and during the 1.50m class on Friday there was also a 6th place for the Irish rider Billy Twomey with the 15-year-old stallion Chat Botte E.D (ex Chat Botte du Ruisseau Z – Casall x Darco – B: Andre Vandepapeliere).
